These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you" or "user") and Squish ("we", "our", or "us") governing your access to and use of the Squish mobile application ("App") and this website.
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the App.
Squish is a local video processing application available on iOS and Android. It enables users to compress, trim, crop, rotate, convert, and otherwise process video and audio files entirely on their device using FFmpeg. The App does not require an internet connection for any core functionality.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. This license is tied to the platform account (Apple ID or Google Account) used to download the App, subject to each platform's respective terms.
You may not:
The App, including its design, code, graphics, and all related intellectual property, is owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or trade names.
You retain full ownership of all video, audio, and other media files you process using the App ("Your Content"). We do not claim any ownership over Your Content. By using the App, you do not grant us any license to Your Content because we do not receive, access, or store Your Content — all processing occurs locally on your device.
You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to process and distribute any content you input into the App. You represent and warrant that:
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You must not use the App to process:
The App incorporates FFmpeg and other open-source libraries. These components are used under their respective open-source licenses (including LGPL and others). Your use of the App does not grant you any additional rights to these third-party components beyond what their open-source licenses already provide.
The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Your use of those distribution platforms is also subject to their respective terms of service.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR FREE OF BUGS OR VIRUSES.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
Our total liability to you for any claims arising out of or related to the App shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Video processing is a resource-intensive operation. While we design the App to be stable and reliable, we strongly recommend maintaining backups of any original media files before processing. We are not liable for any loss of original or processed video files.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Squish and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:
We may release updates to the App from time to time. While we intend to provide updates to fix bugs and improve functionality, we make no commitment to any specific update schedule or feature additions.
We reserve the right to discontinue the App at any time. If we do, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice.
The App may not be available in all countries or regions, and we reserve the right to restrict availability in any jurisdiction at any time.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If resolution cannot be reached informally, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration or the courts of competent jurisdiction in the applicable territory, as determined by applicable law.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may have the right to submit disputes to your local consumer protection authority or the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining Terms remain in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the App and supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, please discontinue use of the App.
